The Good News of Love

I do not know how things are in your communities, but in the communities that I frequent within my own town I see very little love. I mostly see people desperately clinging to worldly possessions, to fame, power, laughter and activity, but very little love. This grieves my heart immensely because I have seen first hand how beautiful and powerful true love can be in our lives.

People for the most part are quick to love themselves, generally their families, maybe their friends, but never their neighbors, co-workers, associates and certainly not the stranger they do not know. In an environment like this it is easy to lose hope and fall into despair. But through my time in prayer and in seeking the Lord I have been reminded that I should not lose hope because God is at work within it all.

This morning I had been lead to a certain song by Nelly Furtado Called "In God's Hands" from her album Loose. The song tells us of the beauty and power of love which we have rejected, even the best of us. But that is not the end because love never began with us it began with God who loved us so much that He sent His own Son to tell us of His love and He has confirmed it to my own heart that He still wants us to have that love today.
