Why I am Doing this

I thought I would write a little blog about why I choose to do this. Why I go to the trouble of posting an article about twice a week. Why I always reference a music video as I talk of the things which the Father has in store for the Church and the world.

It is because the Holy Spirit speaks to me through music, especially modern music like nothing else. The Lord knows that there is much evil prevalent in today's music industry and much of it is corrupted by sin. At the same time some see the industry for what it really is and is not afraid to speak on it openly or sing about it as some choose to if only people would listen.

I believe God choose to speak to me through music because there is a part of me that needs expression, exposure and/or assurance in order for me to live rightly. This part of myself cannot be brought out through the works of sermons, books, newsletters or any other type of literary work because there are issues that will not be dealt with through those works no matter how loving, gracious or kind they are. Music can because all music or at least all godly music because that kind of music is willing to do the hard thing, of looking deep inside of a person's soul and working through the issues there.

I have to face demonic forces, sometimes on a daily basis and if it was not for these songs and the power of my Lord Jesus the Messiah of the world, the Christ I would never have a chance to overcome it all. I believe in a way these songs can be like the Psalms of the Bible in that they are written in honesty and in truth and can be directly applied to Jesus and his work on the cross.

It may be better if we could understand the Psalms in their full lyrical beauty, but unfortunately much of the old Psalmist tradition has been lost. They were written to a tune, which we no longer have, in a poetic form which most do not understand and in a time which very few of us could comprehend. To help explain myself I will take a quotation from "Gangstsa's Paradise" written by Coolio.

They say I got ta learn, but nobody's here to teach me,
If they cant understand it, how can they reach me?
I guess they can't; I guess they won't
I guess they front; that's why I know my life is outta luck, fool!

Therefore if I am being well fed with spiritual bread how can I sit here satisfied and do nothing while there are people out there desperate for something true to get them by each day.
